SELLER ADVISORY

SMOKE & CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS/ALARMS

Under Oregon Law (ORS 479.260) dwellings may not be sold or transferred without the required smoke alarms installed in accordance with the State Building Code and Rules of the State Fire Marshal. Check with a qualified inspector or contractor. Under Oregon Law (OAR 837-047-0120) and in accordance with the State Building Code and Rules of the State Fire Marshal, carbon monoxide alarms are required regardless of the presence of a carbon monoxide source. Seller is responsible for ensuring that working smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, or combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are installed in the appropriate places on the property prior to closing.
